  2. Baptismal Facts
    1. It does not save you.
    2. It is like a wedding ring.
      1. It is a symbol that you are married.
    3. It is a symbol that you are a follower of Jesus.
    4. It is evidence that you have been saved.
  3. What Baptism Represents
    1. Water symbolizes that our sin has been washed away.
    2. Baptism models Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
      1. As we come into the water, we acknowledge that we are dying to sin.
      2. As we go under the water, we acknowledge that we are burying our sin.
      3. As we rise out of the water, we signify the power of God to not only raise Jesus from the dead but to raise us to new life in Christ.
      4. The power that raised Jesus from the dead, is the same power that enables me to live free from the bondage of sin.
  4. Conclusion
    1. Every baptism is a re-enactment of Easter.
