TNC-Tempe Nazarene

Children’s Ministries

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16 (NIV)

TNC Children’s Ministries provides a wide range of activities, all of which are Christ-centered.

Our goal is to help the children learn about Jesus in a personal way so that they will grow up with His teachings. It is our desire that the training they receive here as children will be taken with them throughout their lives.

Below is a listing of the various participation possibilities available for your child.

Children’s Pastor Debbie Hallman works with both Tempe Christian School and Tempe Nazarene Church.

Participation Possibilities

Benson’s Buddies

Wednesdays, 7:00 pm (September through May)

Age Group: Four-years-old to Six-years-old and Not Yet in First Grade

Benson’s Buddies is a weekly kids club designed for four-year-olds to first grade.

Benson, the double-decker bus, escorts young kids on weekly trips as they discover the shopping mall, the zoo, the farm, school, and many other places.

Benson’s Buddies teaches children about the world in which they live and lays the foundation for Christian living.

Caravan Christian Scouting

Wednesdays, 7:00 pm (September through May)

Age Group: First through Sixth Grade

Discover—essential physical, social, mental, and spiritual skills.

Develop—self esteem through recognition.

Experience—positive interaction with caring adults and peers.

Grow—in their understanding of and appreciation for being part of God’s church family.

Caravan is a weekly kids club committed to the physical, social, mental, and spiritual growth of children. It uses an active, hands-on learning approach to help kids discover, develop, experience, and grow.

Caravan teaches children the Articles of Faith of the Church of the Nazarene, information about prominent figures in Nazarene church history, and valuable skills to help them develop spiritually, socially, mentally, and physically.

Missions

Our church’s commitment to missions is to educate and lay the foundation for missions in the future. Mission education is taught through our Children’s Church program, the first Sunday of every month.

Nursery

The nursery (crib and toddler) is open for every regularly scheduled service and all special services called by the Senior Pastor. It’s available for newborns through children two years of age.

Summer Camp

Many of our children in first through sixth grade participate in the summer camp sponsored by the Arizona/Southern Nevada District Church of the Nazarene. The summer camp is held at Camp Pinerock in Prescott.

Discipleship Connections & Children’s Church

Sundays, 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 5:00 pm

Our Sunday morning classes are available for ages two years through sixth grade from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

Children’s Church for two, three, and four year olds is in Room 105 at 10:00 am. Children, ages five years old through fourth grade meet in Room 115 at 10:00 am.

Pastor Debbie Hallman is looking for Greeters before Sunday’s Discipleship Connections to assist families in finding the right rooms for their children. And we need workers in the 2’s Children’s Church area.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is held for one week during the children’s summer vacation. The five nightly sessions include Bible stories, scripture memorization, singing, puppets, crafts, and much more. Specific dates and times are available from the church office.
